Karmin and I made a short visit to the cabin yesterday. We were very excited to see what was happening in the garden. Remember that asparagus? Well it is very tall now and there are more! There must have been five more spears poking through the dirt. We tilled the dirt several times where it is growing. Just seems crazy to me that it would still grow. I guess we will let it seed out this year and see what happens next year.
Karmin and I were like little kids (ok-I was at least) checking out the new sprouts that had popped up. We were going up and down the rows telling each other to look at this and look at that. So now you know that little things excite me-lol.
As we finished looking in the garden our sweet friends showed up to check out the place. I gave them the grand tour of the cabin, the fruit trees, and the chicken coop and then I showed off the garden.

Look what I found! |
You should see the chicks. They are growing very fast. I never knew that chicks could have personality. Well, they do and they are pretty funny. We are enjoying watching them grow. It is just amazing! I must tell you that I have taught the preschoolers that the chicken DID come first.

Oh, one more thing. Here are a couple of pictures of the egg we found. Friend at church said it may be a Robin's eggs.

What do you think? |
Asparagus re-seeds itself! You got a real blessing with this. I'm having to wait the 3 years before I can pick mine. I just put some in the ground this year.
ReplyDeleteWe have chickens from the same batch as you. Same age and look exactly like yours. We have six and they are alot of fun. We look forward to the warm days so they can go outside a little.
