Busy Day

Saturday was pretty busy. I arrived at the cabin about 9 am. Everything seemed pretty quiet. There was no sign of life inside the cabin. I unloaded the new weed eater and took it to the porch. It was very easy to put together. I think there were two screws and it was ready to go. I was not quiet at all as I got the extension cords out and started to weed eat. It was about 930 when Janie showed up on the front porch. She told me had been busy with the dog and did not even hear me pull up in the truck.

We worked in the yard until about 12pm. A friend was opening a new store called Kidz Klozet and we needed to stop in. After our visit we headed to the church. This was the day of our BBQ-oh yea!! We walked in and there were more desserts then I could count. The bbq was great. The desserts were yummy. We even came home with a few desserts because they started giving them away.

After the bbq we headed to the rock yard. Brian had told me that the truck could hold four scoops of rocks. Sooooooooooo we go four scoops of rocks and headed out. Janie needed water so we stopped at the little store. Thank goodness we did. The tires were not happy campers at all. One of the tires was half flat. Yep—that baby was hanging on for dear life. The others were in dire need of air too. We found some quarters and filled all the tires to the correct pressure. I told the girls they had better start praying that we make it back to the cabin. No one said a word the entire trip back. We made it with no problems and got those rocks put in the driveway.

This trip to the cabin I did have a lighter (ok-so I had to stop and buy one because I forgot the matches again) to burn the brush pile. The wind had made its way to the cabin by the afternoon and was just gusting away. So we did not get a chance to use the new lighter.

OH!!! There is a surprise in the garden. A random sprig of asparagus has popped up. Just one! I guess the previous owners had planted some. It is just there all by itself.

We had a good day working and visiting friends. Wish every day could be that way.

The chicks are getting big. They are Buff Orpington chickens. Their feathers are starting to come in. We have decided that we each get to name two chickens. Karmin has named hers Millie and Kazza. I am going to name mine Dinner and Soup. Dinner is in honor of a new show I like this year—Off the Map. Soup, well I think it is funny. Like when you name a dog Go Away or your pig Pork Chop-lol.

Ka’Nick is still sad. We are getting him ready to live in the house again. Karmin and I have started combing him to get rid of his excess fur. If you could sell dog fur we would be rich.

  1. Asparagus will grow like wild in some parts around here. You can even find it on the side of the road.

  2. I love the Off the Map show too. Dinner, lol. We are thinking about letting our chicks out for a couple hours today to stretch their legs a bit.
