It seems that plants and chicks are growing, some faster then others. We have a lot of sprouts in the garden. The peas and spinach are coming up. I am pretty sure the carrots are trying to make an appearance too. You know it would be much easier to tell weeds from sprouts in the garden if I knew what the sprouts look like. When you have never planted veggies you really are clueless as to what you are looking for in the beginning. I did put stakes at the end of the rows. That way I would be sure to look in the right spot for multiple sprouts that look the same.
Karmin has her first flower bloom. What do you think? I think it is very pretty.
Brian just could not help himself when we got the mowers back from the shop. He had to test it out. I think he mowed grass for about two hours. Those two hours barely made a dent in what has to be mowed. I am seriously thinking about getting a goat to help us out.
Well, the chicks are growing like crazy. Almost every day you can tell they are bigger then the day before. Three weeks ago they were little yellow fluff balls with tiny little feet. Today they have half their feathers and grown chicken feet. They really are fun to watch. Our other chicks should be here in June. They will arrive ready to be put outside so we will miss the cute baby stage with them.
I have changed the name of one of the chicks I am naming. Instead of Soup I am going to name one Tender. So I will have Dinner and Tender. Brian has decided to name his Shake and Bake.
The pink lemonade blueberry bush and the cherry bushes I ordered arrived this week. I did get them planted before the rain got here. The goji berry bush I ordered is on the way. The sad news is the fig tree seems to be dead. I will be replacing it soon. I really like figs. When I was little I was told to stop eating all the figs off the tree and if I didn’t that the figs would make my mouth raw. Well, I found out just this past summer that is not true. My mom just told me that so I would stop eating the figs!

Just a side note—the asparagus keeps popping up in the garden.
