Tomatoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, our tomatoes produced more then I could have imagined. All 62 plants that we planted survived. I really thought I might have made a mistake by planting so many. Now,  I think I could have used a few more. I would have liked to made more tomato sauce.

Heirlooms

When I was little I called these tommy toes.
Still do!

This one made a great sandwich!!

ketchup

We grow all sizes :)

Believe it or not - this is not the biggest and not the smallest.

yummy

I made several different salsas, ketchup, bbq sauce, pizza sauce, pasta sauce, tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes, dried tomatoes, and green tomato jam. The pictures do not show the true amount of tomatoes we had on our table at one time. Take the last picture and double it!!

Corn

This corn is not from my garden. A friend from church gave it to me. It did take several hours to complete this task. I had to silk it, then stop and go get Karmin from band practice, we had to go feed the chickens, next I had to fix a little supper and then I was able to finish the job. It is now safe in my freezer     : )

What I started with.
What I ended up with - 29 1/2 cups.

What?? You are really a ROOSTER!!!

Well, it seems that the people that sold us Millie and Kazza do not really know their chicken business. When buying the girls we were assured they were BOTH girls. I asked several times to make sure we were getting girls and girls only. “Yes, they have been sexed and they ARE for SURE girls”, is what the sales person told us.

I laugh at them. I would really like a refund!!!!! You see Kazza turned out to be a ROOSTER!!! Yep, full fledged, all boy, rooster! Karmin was in denial for a while about the situation. She has come to terms with the truth now. We do not love Kazza any less. We just do not want any babies. OK, Karmin and Melissa want babies. I think we will just keep the eggs (when they start laying) picked up so we do not have to deal with any babies.

I hope the people that we got our new babies from know their chicken business. They are supposed to be ALL girls too!
