It seems that I have a new condition. It's called "Can NOT Resist A Super Cute Chicken." Yes, we have a new chicken. She was not rescued. Yep, I bought her on purpose! She is the cutest little chicken I have ever seen. She is what is known as a Frizzle. That means her feathers flip up towards her head. It's like she was given a bath and put in front of a fan backwards.
We are going to call her Frizzle. Why? So I can remember what kind she is. I never knew there were so many different types of chickens. God must have had some more fun when he was creating them all. I think he took the rainbow and used it to color chickens.
She is in the basement right now. We want to make sure she is healthy. Saturday Frizzle will be moved into her new home at the cabin.
Without further ado. Here she is - FRIZZLE!!!
We are a small family farm that started with one cabin and two chicks. We still have one cabin but the chicks have multiplied. I am sure we have over 100 by now. We show and breed most of our bantams. We sell our eggs at the local farmers market and right off the farm.

Welcome Home Crooked Neck! |
Croked Neck is a bit different. His neck grew sideways. I wa told that many things could have caused it. It might have happend inside the egg when he was given a shot. I did not even know you could give a chicken a shot inside the egg. Why did we get him?? Well, we saved him from being destroyed. No! We are not starting a chicken rescue. We got him from Karmin's friend. I told them both that this is the only chicken we will rescue. He is sweet and just kinda stays to himself. He is only good for a pet or maybe the dinner table!

Millie is a Big girl now!!!
No, Millie has not flown the coop and not living on her own. She has started laying eggs. Can you believe our little girl has grown up? She layed her first egg on 9-14-2011. We were so excited---not sure if she was. The egg is so small and cute (yes-I said cute) and brown. We went to the cabin this afternoon and there was another egg. This one is a little larger then the first one and a bit lighter in color--kind of a pink color.

Look how cute!! |
Safe and cozy in the egg keeper with the foreigners. It's so small. |
