Few pictures

Not sure what flattened this plant.  It looks like something sat on it.

Our first harvest of squash and zucchini.

Just a pretty flower growing in the yard.

Watermelons are growing fast.

The squash and zucchini were very tasty. I put some in the freezer already. I can not wait to taste the watermelon. Things are really growing. Am I surprised? Why yes I am. Remember, we have no idea what we are doing. Some things I am just making up as we go along :)

Catch up!!

Well Brian has been gone a bit now. Things have been busy and I have not kept up with things. The garden is growing like crazy.  The deer and rabbits have not been in the garden much but they have been eating the leaves off the fruit trees. The poor pear and apple trees are half naked. I bought some more marigolds and Karmin planted them on one side of the garden. We put out more dog hair and some sweet treat that should help detour the deer away from the garden.

We have seen two baby rabbits and one baby brown snake. They were all very cute. We have baby watermelons in the fruit garden and baby tomatoes on the vine. Hope there are enough tomatoes to make salsa, pizza sauce and spaghetti sauce. Including the plants we got from the bank we have 62 tomato plants still going strong.

The girls are all grown up. Millie and Kaza are huge. They look like full grown chickens but they are only about 10 weeks old. They are living full time at the cabin now. We made them a 5 gallon feeder bucket and bought them a 3 gallon water bucket. They seem to have made the adjustment from inside chicks to outside chicks pretty well.

Pictures to get us caught up :-)
